We are a global Loyalty‐as‐a‐Service company experiencing rapid expansion with headquarters in Singapore and New York. The Team Ascenda's API platform powers the enterprise backend of how users earn and redeem points across a variety of product types. We operate in high‐throughput environments with traffic spikes exceeding 1 million requests a day. The Role As a Senior Engineer for Loyalty, you will run applications independently and drive project execution. You will mentor other engineers, own medium‐to‐large projects, and work across teams to deliver high‐quality solutions. Responsibilities Design and implement Loyalty‐related projects, seeking peer reviews and driving initiatives independently. Become highly proficient in the technical systems under your responsibility, while maintaining a solid understanding of related systems. Mentor junior engineers, helping them grow in technical skills and problem‐solving. Demonstrate high engineering standards and code quality. Collaborate well with teammates and cross‐functional partners, communicating project updates and blockers clearly. Articulate technical concepts to non‐technical audiences. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve incidents and operational issues with appropriate urgency. Analyze and resolve day‐to‐day technical obstacles within the team. Independently implement code that is clear, concise, well‐tested, and meets functional and non‐functional requirements. Use and improve system observability to aid operations and troubleshooting. Review code and designs of other engineers regularly. Drive improvements to engineering processes. Suggest and implement improvements to team processes. Participate in processes outside the team's sphere such as hiring, tech branding, and other cross‐functional initiatives. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on system design and development. Experience with leading project delivery for large‐scale, high‐throughput distributed systems on the cloud, with a solid foundation in systems architecture, infrastructure, networking, and databases. Strong foundational knowledge of infrastructure, networking, and databases; experience optimizing components for reliability and performance in the software development lifecycle. Fluency in Ruby is a plus; willingness and ability to learn Ruby quickly is acceptable. Experience leveraging technical roadmaps/RFCs to communicate architecture designs and fully execute them. Preference for simple, scalable solutions; good intuition for lasting design. Experience mentoring and/or leading junior engineers and coaching them for high performance.
