Responsibilities Develop a strong relationship with all parents and students. Be a role model who mentors and guides students to ensure they meet their full potential. Actively review student assessment data—including academic, behavioural and social/emotional aspects—to set learning goals, develop student agency and implement interventions that support each individual's success. Teach 9 lessons (45 minutes each) and fulfill 1 yard duty per week. Experience and Qualifications Recognised teaching qualification (minimum B.Ed or PGCE equivalent). Tertiary background in Mandarin language studies. At least 2 years of teaching Mandarin experience. Knowledge and teaching experience of the IB Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme. Appropriate Health and Safety training for taught subject areas (e.g. first aid, PE, swimming). Articulate written and oral communication in both Mandarin and English. Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team. Experience in an international school setting is advantageous. Willingness to adapt to and embrace a new school environment. Willingness to contribute to and champion educational change that supports best practice and improves student learning. Professional Expertise Cognitive activation / pedagogical subject knowledge: deep understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, subject content and student developmental needs. Classroom management: establishing routines and procedures to provide a safe, supportive, student‐centred learning environment. Formative assessment: effective use of differentiated assessment tools and strategies, and understanding of accommodations that drive learning forward. Student well‐being & safeguarding: caretaker of social health and emotional well‐being, fostering healthy peer relationships and guiding individual development. Professionalism: commitment to ethics, international‐mindedness, and collaboration that enhances student learning.
