Executive Director Master Data Management Global Process Owner
The Global Process Owner (GPO) for Master Data Management (MDM) reports to the Master Data Management (MDM) Tower Lead and is responsible for governing and optimizing MDM processes including Product, Customer, Vendor, and Finance data. In this role, you will drive standardization, compliance, digital enablement, and data quality to support operational excellence and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will actively seek opportunities for process enhancements, implement best practices, and focus on efficiency and scalability.As the GPO for MDM, you will lead a matrix organization of Business Technology (BT) partners and Process Stewards while collaborating with GPOs from various functions to ensure efficient and effective operations. Your ability to create an environment of shared accountability and personnel excellence, along with your commitment to coaching and developing others, will be crucial in this role.A key aspect of your responsibilities will involve shaping and aligning the global data strategy, ensuring seamless integration with ERP systems, especially SAP S/4HANA, and promoting a culture of data literacy and ownership within the organization. You will also play a strategic role in Enterprise Services & Solutions (ESS) transformation programs representing Master Data perspectives.Key Responsibilities:- Global Process Ownership of Master Data Management: - Design and govern MDM processes in alignment with organizational priorities. - Establish and maintain master data standards, policies, and procedures. - Harmonize master data practices for consistency, scalability, and integration. - Drive data lifecycle strategy aligned with regulatory and operational requirements. - Champion data ownership models and ensure clear role accountability.- Governance: - Represent MDM within the enterprise data governance body. - Establish governance forums to align stakeholders across functions. - Support the development of the strategic roadmap for MDM maturity.- MDM Systems Oversight: - Collaborate with BT on the selection and implementation of MDM systems and tools. - Oversee the integration and alignment of SAP S/4 and MDG systems with MDM processes. - Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives for master data workflows.- Culture, Enablement & Change Management: - Promote a data-driven culture and awareness across the enterprise. - Support change management and training programs for MDM policies and tools. - Collaborate with analytics and organization for AI-ready data curation.Professional Education And Skills:- Education: - Masters degree and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience OR; - Bachelors degree and 10 to 14 years of relevant experience OR; - Certification in data governance or data quality management. - Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, or related methodologies is a plus.- Experience: - 8+ years of experience in Master Data Management, with leadership experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry. - Previous leadership across multiple data domains; customer, vendor, finance, and product. - Experience in shared services environment is advantageous. - Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, and regulatory environments. - Expertise in data strategy, governance, and system implementation, especially SAP S/4HANA.- Skills/ Competencies: - Familiarity with ERP systems and MDM tools. - Strong business acumen aligning data strategy to enterprise goals. - Ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate globally. - Entrepreneurial mindset driving transformational change. - Outstanding leadership, communication, and change management skills.This position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for driving data excellence and operational efficiency within a global organization.,
