Job Title:
Master Data Management Director

The Master Data Management (MDM) Director oversees the governance and optimization of MDM processes, including Product, Customer, Vendor, and Finance data. This includes driving standardization, compliance, digital enablement, and data quality to support operational excellence and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This role will actively seek opportunities for process enhancements, implement best practices, and focus on efficiency and scalability. The MDM Director will lead a matrix organization of Business Technology (BT) partners and Process Stewards while collaborating with GPOs from various functions to ensure efficient and effective operations.

A key aspect of this responsibility is shaping and aligning the global data strategy, ensuring seamless integration with ERP systems, especially SAP S/4HANA, and promoting a culture of data literacy and ownership within the organization.

This position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for driving data excellence and operational efficiency within a global organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and govern MDM processes in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Establish and maintain master data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Harmonize master data practices for consistency, scalability, and integration.
  • Drive data lifecycle strategy aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Champion data ownership models and ensure clear role accountability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Masters degree and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience OR;
  • Bachelors degree and 10 to 14 years of relevant experience OR;
  • Certification in data governance or data quality management.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, or related methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Master Data Management, with leadership experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Previous leadership across multiple data domains; customer, vendor, finance, and product.
  • Experience in shared services environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, and regulatory environments.
  • Expertise in data strategy, governance, and system implementation, especially SAP S/4HANA.
