Who we are looking for
The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute and finalize a project according to an established project schedule with a strict deadline and within budget. You will manage and deliver successful projects in the water/wastewater business. You will interact internally with all levels of disciplines and externally with clients, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
What you will be doing
Assist with the execution of the project from conceptual planning phases through final plans and specifications.
Provide administrative and technical management over more than one water resource, water treatment, or wastewater project.
Establish and periodically review time and budget allocations and meet those budgets on the projects.
Periodically review project schedule and progress.
Maintain ongoing relationship with the client after project completion to secure future work and opportunities.
Supervise or coordinate several varied assignments simultaneously.
Manage technical staff.
Evaluate alternatives, work with engineering and operational teams to resolve issues, and interface with other disciplines.
Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and documentation on reports and design projects.
Collaborate with technical and business development for project reviews and company management as needed.
Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate and adjust work efforts to stay within the schedule parameters.
Perform other duties as needed.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
Skilled in report writing, technical writing, organization, analytical and verbal communication.
Proven problem-solving and risk management abilities.
Experience in decision-making, identifying and solving complex problems.
Demonstrated success in project leadership.
Strong project management skills, including organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout with internal disciplines, contractors and vendors.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering required.
5-10 years of progressive experience in a water/wastewater treatment environment with knowledge of methods, techniques, principles, and practices of water/wastewater treatment, water distribution, and wastewater collection.
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with strong report and technical writing abilities.
Self-starter with the ability to lead and manage team members and projects.
Background ideally includes project work and process knowledge of site work, hydraulics, pipeline, and water/wastewater treatment.
Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
Strong PC skills with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and the ability to optimize technology and systems to communicate, manage budgets, and streamline processes.
Proficiency in Project Management tools like MS Projects, Primavera or similar.
Preferable with a valid driver’s license of class 3.
