What the role is: The Research team undertakes and supports research that leads to informed policy and practice, and effective engagement of youth. We spearhead national-level youth research efforts alongside sense‐making and consultancy for the organisation and stakeholders. As part of our work, we monitor emerging trends in the youth landscape and work with stakeholders to conceptualise research to keep abreast of the youth pulse. Through our studies, in‐depth analyses, and sense‐making, we translate data into meaningful insights into youths' concerns, issues and outcomes, to help stakeholders make evidence‐driven decisions that better serve Singapore's youth. We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of research and analytical methods, particularly in quantitative research, and good project management and communication skills. This is a one‐year contract position with the Research team. What you will be working on: Support data collation, cleaning and analysis across key research and youth engagement projects, to enable regular reporting of insights to management and deepen our understanding of emerging trends and sentiments among key youth segments. Drive development of amplification products on topical, in‐depth insights (e.g., decks) for stakeholders across NYC and whole‐of‐government, through the synthesis, sense‐making and visualisation of data and literature reviews, and identification of actionable insights which can inform programme practices and policy formulations. Support the project management and administration of the team's key research projects to ensure operational processes run smoothly and enable timely delivery of high‐quality research products. What we are looking for: Background in psychology, sociology and economics is not a pre‐requisite but would be advantageous. Some knowledge of research methods and analysis. Possess macro perspective of issues and meticulous with details. Strong project management, communication and critical thinking skills. Good quantitative data management and analysis skills. Prior experience in qualitative data analysis will be advantageous. Good capabilities in data visualisation, storytelling and writing. Working proficiency with data analysis and presentation software (e.g., SPSS, Tableau) would be advantageous. Team‐player who is also able to work well independently as needed. Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment.
