The Market Development & Surveillance Department is a team that sits at the intersection of policy, business, regulation and technology in Singapore's drive towards net zero carbon emissions. We are committed to ensuring the markets' "software" deliver the benefits of advances in energy "hardware" to Singaporeans. In the coming years, the Wholesale Electricity Market Branch will be: Re‐designing our energy market and incentives to integrate renewable energy, energy imports and flexibility products over horizons of 5, 10 and 25 years. Ensuring the market delivers appropriate investments, competitive prices and stable supply. Maintaining and deploying EMA's surveillance and intervention toolkit to ensure an orderly and stable energy market. We are looking for a team player who has: Strong learning initiative (e.g. a curious mind, a preference to refine new ideas) and ability to clarify ideas and create structure in situations that are novel, uncertain, and ambiguous. Strong analytical skills, whether in designing systems or managing data. An ability to express complex concepts simply. Depth of mind to think a few steps ahead. Optimism, patience and charm to navigate cross-cutting interests in a winsome way. If you have an interest or ability in applying new tools (data, AI) to transform existing processes, or experience with market micro‐structure and analysis, that would be a plus. We welcome experienced candidates considering a switch into energy, sustainability or public service. This role is a non‐managerial role, but with the opportunity to lead your own projects. Experienced hires with public policy, regulatory / systems design or trade analytics experience will be favourably considered.
