Emergency & Critical Care – Senior Nurse (Day & Night)Nursing duties such as but are not limited to: Provide high-level nursing care for emergency and critically ill patients during day shifts. Monitor and manage patients in the ICU and emergency ward, including small animals and exotic species. Assist ECC veterinarians with emergency consultations, diagnostics, triage, and critical care procedures. Prepare and manage emergency cases for surgery and assist in post-operative recovery. Perform anaesthesia monitoring and post-anaesthesia recovery under veterinary supervision. Carry out diagnostics such as blood sampling, IV catheter placements, radiographs, and TFAST/AFAST as directed. Accurately update patient medical records and communicate ongoing treatment plans to the veterinary team. Mentor junior nurses and nursing interns, offering guidance, hands‐on training, and support. Participate in daily inpatient rounds and ensure smooth transitions between departments. Ensure ECC treatment areas and ICU wards are clean, organized, and well-stocked. Collaborate closely with veterinarians and specialists to deliver a high standard of care and patient outcomes. Requirements: Degree or Diploma in veterinary technology or relevant nursing qualification. At least five (5) years of experience in the veterinary industry, including emergency and critical care settings. Minimum three (3) years in a leadership or senior nursing role preferred. Proficient in ECC protocols, anaesthesia monitoring, and handling high‐acuity patients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
