Job title: Specialist, Logistics Operations (MICE/Convention Services)

Marina Bay Sands seeks a Specialist, Logistics Operations responsible for coordinating trade-show materials, equipment, and on-site logistics for MICE/convention services. This role requires ensuring timely, accurate equipment handling, upholding safety and hospitality standards, and supporting event operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Updating team members attendance and temperature log sheets, and observing department standard operating procedures.
• Maintain high standards of service to provide prompt, friendly, and courteous customer experiences.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the team; ensure smooth running of activities and events.
• Assist in coordinating department events and team-building activities; maintain cleanliness of working areas and participate in energy conservation.
• Attend Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Eco 360 activities as assigned; contribute sustainability actions as required by the department.
• Provide general secretarial support to clients and assist with cross-training to support other locations as directed by management.
• Coordinate trade-show materials movements and ensure tools and equipment are readily available.
• Communicate developments, opportunities, and solutions to the Logistics Manager/Supervisor; assist with miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
• Coordinate with trade show organizers and contractors during exhibitions; arrange storage of products when necessary.
• Ensure equipment is dispatched in a timely and accurate manner; verify all packed goods are easily identified and located.
• Adhere to the operations manual for Logistics Specialist; manage rental of equipment to contractors and provide familiarization sessions for contractors renting equipment.
• Maintain readiness and safety for exhibition halls; report defects and monitor rectification/repair; handle/operate high reach equipment and forklifts as required.
• Ensure all house rules are followed by contractors and guests; assist with traffic marshalling and the opening/closing of air walls as needed for client requirements.
• Ensure maintenance schedules are followed; ensure MOM recertification for equipment; assist with waste management and cleaning at MICE; assist with deliveries after hours when necessary.
• Provide briefing to contractors accessing the property for event setup and teardown; report any safety violations and assist with difficult/intoxicated guests as needed.
• Respond promptly to emergencies; interact with all levels of staff and management; adapt to deployment arrangements as cross-training occurs.
• Assist with guest directions to popular attractions and standby for activation during crises (e.g., Covid-19, SARS).

Job Requirements

• No formal education required; Certificate in Safety preferred.
• Valid forklift driver and high-reach equipment licenses are required; minimum three (3) years’ experience as a Logistics Specialist in the Conventions and Exhibitions industry.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, multi-task, and work under pressure; team-oriented and cooperative with other departments.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, overnights, and public holidays; positive attitude with initiative.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; able to interact with all levels of staff and management.
• Attend attendance guidelines and adhere to departmental and company policies; maintain peak comfort and safety in collaboration with internal and external teams.
• Cross-train to assist other Logistics and Business Services departments; participate in external/internal training courses as appropriate.
