Summary of Job Role: This entry-level position will support a busy broking desk by undertaking tasks such as phone handling, data entry, updating proprietary software, and communicating with clients. This opportunity will provide learning on-the-job the role of a Shipbroker, working directly with clients to provide value and market-leading professional services. Successful candidates will have industry exams paid for and will benefit from the guidance and mentoring from some of the most successful brokers in the business. Key Tasks & Responsibilities: Diligently update proprietary software for efficient internal post fixture commitments, company reporting, client support and the research database General admin support for the broking desk Liaising with clients. Skills: Good MS Excel skills Knowledge and understanding of Shipbroking Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and influencing skills Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously Critical thinking skills, demonstrated ability to apply logic Excellent attention to detail Personal Attributes: Strong team ethos, with ability to also work independently Able to effectively communicate with integrity, commitment, and honesty Self-motivated and driven to succeed - Positive mentality and approach, proactive and shows initiative A strong personal drive, desire to succeed, and motivation to continuously progress Flexible with willingness to learn and develop new skills An excellent phone manner and strong communication skills Possess an ability to successfully work with challenging and demanding clients with tenacity
