Roster is an AI hiring platform built for the creator economy. Our recommendation engine matches employers with the perfect creative talent - video editors, thumbnail designers, producers, and more - based on algorithmic matching of creative style.

Our platform is home to talent from over 150 countries who have worked with the biggest content creators in the world like MrBeast and Dude Perfect. Think of us as the IMDb for digital content -we catalog who works with which creators, and make those connections visible and accessible.

Top creators like Yes Theory (9M subscribers), Jesser (29M subscribers), and Airrack (16M subscribers) all build their teams through Roster.

The Opportunity

The content creation is a $100 billion industry, yet the HR infrastructure for the industry is still nascent. This makes sense considering full-time jobs such as Thumbnail Designer didn't previously exist and the explosive growth of platforms like TikTok only happened in the last 5 years.

The reality is that every creator is a media business and production house, and therefore, need to hire a team. Traditional companies have LinkedIn, whereas businesses in the creative industry only have Upwork and Fivver. These avenues are filled with questionable quality freelancers and a customer journey that isn't meant for creative work.

We have an opportunity to change this. Our vision is to become the definitive platform for creative services, using AI to create more jobs for creative professionals - not replace them.

Where We Are At

• Company: Our company officially launched in June 2024. Here is our launch announcement with The Information.
• Product: Roster was bootstrapped (we built our platform from scratch in under 3 weeks) and have been revenue-generating from day one.
• User & Growth: We've helped tons of creators hire a variety of roles, from Video Editors to C-suite executives. In the past 3 months, we have tripled our user base and we are looking to scale extensively.
• Financing: We raised an angel round and are backed by some of the most prominent individuals in the media and creator industry.

Why You Are Important

As our Operations & Business Manager, you'll be the right hand to our founder and a key pillar for the entire team. You'll keep the company running smoothly day-to-day, make sure projects hit deadlines, and create the structure that lets our team do their best work.

This isn't a back-office role - your work will directly impact how quickly we grow, how strong our culture feels, and how well we execute on our ambitious vision. You'll be trusted with real ownership, from holding the team accountable to engaging directly with creators and users.

By joining at this stage, you'll not only shape how Roster runs but also grow alongside the business - learning firsthand what it takes to build a startup from the inside.

Your Role

• Work directly with the founder as their right hand to keep Roster running day-to-day.
• Take ownership of operations, ensuring projects move forward and the team stays accountable.
• Flex across ops, product, marketing, and creator partnerships - one day you might be structuring internal processes, the next day helping run a Hiring Challenge, talking to users, or preparing for a partner meeting.
• Translate big-picture goals into action by making decisions quickly, solving problems on the fly, and keeping momentum high.
• Be a consistent pillar for the team — engineers, creators, and partners can rely on you to connect the dots and get things done.

Skills & Qualities Required

• 2–4 years of experience in operations, business management, or generalist roles at a startup (or equivalent "wearing many hats" environment).
• Strong operator: excellent at organizing, prioritizing, and driving accountability across a team.
• Fast decision-maker: bias for action, able to move quickly without overthinking.
• Problem solver: spots bottlenecks early, proposes solutions, and unblocks the team.
• Comfortable flexing across ops, product, marketing, and creator partnerships - you enjoy variety and can switch contexts quickly.
• Strong communicator: can take user/creator calls, digest feedback, and translate it into actionable input for engineers and product.
• People-first: can hold others accountable while keeping morale high.
• Builder mindset: adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable in ambiguity.
• Comfortable with startup pace - sometimes evenings/weekends are needed to keep momentum high.
• Above all: hungry, ambitious, and excited to grow as fast as the company does.
