Overview
The role is placed in the IT Service Operations team. The jobholder will manage resources and plan activities to ensure smooth operation of the network and security infrastructures.
What You Will Be Working On
Be a subject matter expert (SME) to provide technical expertise and consultancy to HTDs
Lead and drive automation initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery
Collaborate with teams during the Project Planning Phase to incorporate Maintenance and Support Design Thinking as part of project requirements
Lead the implementation of new initiatives and infrastructure enhancements to meet HTDs’ needs, ICT infrastructure refresh, e.g., automation
Work with teams and manage vendors to plan, manage and deliver projects to ensure they meet contractual and Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance, and take corrective actions as needed
Implement, manage, and maintain ICT security measures; remediate cybersecurity audit findings and ensure compliance with government policies
Collaborate with System Owners and lead the Operations and Support (O&S) teams to ensure sufficient capability within O&S and contracted vendors to manage systems throughout their lifecycle
Identify, evaluate and recommend cost-effective technical solutions; procure ICT systems to meet operational needs (e.g., obsolescence management, system refresh, mid-life upgrade)
Plan, budget, prepare technical specifications and manage project progress and budget, resolving issues to ensure timely completion
Establish and induct best practices in maintenance and support
Formulate Operation and Support Standards for Infra Systems across MHA/HTX for ease of maintenance
Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or Management
What We Are Looking For
Tertiary qualification in IT, Engineering, or equivalent
Good grasp of IT industry best practices and processes; keeps abreast of technology advances
Strong technical skills in project, contract, and vendor management
Government Home Team Ops knowledge and understanding of their systems and networks are preferred
Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
Strong and effective communication skills (oral and written), presentation, negotiation
Strong project management skills (e.g., negotiation, contract management)
Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power Apps, Power BI, UiPath) and Python
All new appointees will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
