Property and Engineering Claims Handler
to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both direct and reinsurance business. This role requires a strong understanding of property and engineering claims processes, alongside excellent communication and negotiation skills. The opportunity:
Assess and manage property and engineering claims from initial notification through to settlement.
Handle direct and reinsurance business, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with co-insurers and reinsurers to resolve claims efficiently.
Conduct thorough investigations and evaluations of claims, including site visits when necessary.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and records of claims activities.
Liaise with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve queries.
Analyze loss data and prepare reports for management review.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in claims handling.
About you:
Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Engineering, or a related field.
Possess basic CGI, CII or equivalent.
Prior experience in loss adjusting firms or equivalent roles is preferred.
Strong understanding of property and engineering insurance principles and claims processes.
Familiarity with reinsurance business, including direct and reinsurance arrangements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Proficiency in claims management software, P400 system, Microsoft Office Suite and data analytics tool, such as Tableau.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACII or equivalent) are a plus.
