About The Role
Note: This role is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
We are looking for a Senior Financial Data Analyst with strong technical and analytical capabilities to enhance our financial reporting, improve data flow, and support data-driven decision-making.
This role combines financial acumen with technical expertise, making it ideal for a finance professional who thrives on leveraging systems, automation, and data to drive performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Transformation & Process Improvement
Lead or support finance transformation initiatives, including new system implementations, upgrades, and module rollouts.
Manage project workstreams, across requirement gathering, testing, change management and user training.
Promote best practices in finance systems and operations to improve scalability, control, and efficiency.
Drive adoption of modern technologies that streamline financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
System Ownership & Support
Serve as system owner for key finance tools (eg. Workday Adaptive Planning), managing configurations, integrations, and on-going enhancements.
Provide end-user support including issue resolution, data validation, user access control and documentation.
Monitor system performance and proactively address inefficiencies and data integrity issues.
Solution Design & Analytics Enablement
Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Business Unit stakeholders to understand challenges and recommend sustainable, system-enabled solutions.
Design, document, and implement data flows, reporting structures, and process improvements.
Evaluate new system features or integrations to enhance forecasting, analytics, and decision-support capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, major in Finance, Accounting or Information Systems or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial systems analytics or FP&A roles with hand-on configuration and solution delivery.
Strong understanding of finance processes and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including Macro and Power Query) and familiar with ERP (eg. SAP) and planning system (eg. Workday Adaptive Planning).
Experience in data automation, transformation, and financial reporting design.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and project coordination skills.
Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
