Job Overview

The role of a Lead Early Interventionist plays a pivotal part in empowering individuals with disabilities and promoting inclusive communities.

This position ensures the effective implementation of quality administrative and coordinating structures to achieve organisational excellence in student learning and development.

Critical Responsibilities

Curriculum Development

  • Develop Centre-wide curriculum and programmes based on evidence-based practices, ensuring materials and resources are appropriate for individual needs.
  • Refine processes to achieve effective development of individual learning objectives and outcomes through accurate assessment.
  • Evaluate teaching and learning approaches applied to lessons to improve intervention quality for students.
  • Implement health, safety, nutritional and hygiene standards at the Centre.
  • Design projects, analyse data and interpret findings to drive programme development.

Student Holistic Development

  • Implement Centre-wide curricula, plan and implement programme level goals and targets related to student well-being and development.
  • Lead improvements in teaching and intervention practices based on research and inquiry findings.
  • Develop classroom management strategies.
  • Guide reviews of children's learning progress, goals and family priorities in coordination with social service and healthcare professionals.
  • Support system, process and operations improvements.

Collaboration Across Disciplines

  • Implement cross-sector programmes with industry leaders.
  • Review the development and/or enhancements of programmes and initiatives at Centre-level, cross-Centre level and Centre-family-community level.
  • Develop new partnerships to improve programmes and services.
  • Conduct workshops for knowledge sharing and resource exchange with staff, Centres, families and community.

Professional Growth and Development

  • Engage in self-reflective practice, supervision and professional development activities.
  • Plan, support and provide feedback towards staff professional development.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and reflection to uplift professional practice.
  • Lead teams to implement organisational or unit wide initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree in a related field (Psychology, Social Work, Human Services) from a recognised Institution.
  • Eligible for Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs).
  • At least 8 years experience teaching in an Early Intervention setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
