Construction and Design Technology Technician

Position Requirements:
The expectation is that this role is for a proactive person who shows initiative in assisting with the planning and day-to-day running of the Design Technology and Construction curriculum areas. They should be able to work independently and efficiently to assist the Technology staff in their duties and promote Technology within a wider school context. This position will require the successful candidate to:
Be flexible, energetic and resourceful.
Be confident and willing to work with students of various abilities.
Have the ability to design and fabricate items, such as storage units, for use in workshops and prep areas.
Have a keen interest in design and timber-related products, with a willingness to learn about timber and other resistant materials such as plastics and metals in an educational setting.
Follow instructions from the Head of Department and other teaching staff within the department.
Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and collaborate with others in a friendly manner.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills and be confident in using the telephone and email to communicate with suppliers and other personnel.
Be proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications:
A qualification in carpentry or a related trade would be beneficial.
Experience working with children in a school setting would be advantageous.
