What the role is: This teaching role is in the School of Business.
What you will be working on
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual in the fields of airline, airport or tourism operations who is dedicated to inspire and prepare learners for successful careers.
Design and develop teaching, assessment, and learning materials (including e-learning and multimedia presentations) for airline, airport and tourism operations subjects for both pre-employment training (PET) and continuing education and training (CET).
Conduct lectures, tutorials, and student consultations, including the supervision of projects in airline, airport and tourism operations subjects, as well as business-related subjects such as sales, marketing, and management in PET and CET.
Plan, initiate and mentor collaboration with relevant industry players to support student learning and staff participation.
Undertake industry or consultancy projects.
Participate in delivery of outreach activities to market the school and course to potential students.
Develop and provide pastoral care and career guidance to students and alumni in related areas.
Contribute to poly-wide/school-wide events or activities.
Perform administrative and other related tasks and projects as required.
What we are looking for
Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
At least 3-5 years of industry experience in airline, airport or tourism operations.
Strong proficiency in using airline Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus.
Committed to driving digitalisation and innovation in the hospitality and tourism industry.
A dedication and genuine interest in teaching and students' learning.
Strong digital skills and the ability to learn new software quickly will be an advantage.
The ability to facilitate students' learning using best practice educational methodologies will be preferred.
Possess effective written and spoken communications skills.
Able to work independently and in teams.
