Position Pre-requisites The person who is employed in this position shall: Ø Have completed the SGS company induction. Ø Be highly experienced and knowledgeable of our services provided to the diving industry. Ø Be trained and has passed the relevant courses at an accredited organization to supervise inland/inshore diving operations. Ø Be medically fit to dive - holds an in-date diving medical issued by a registered Diving and Hyperbaric medical practitioner. Ø Have completed Risk Management training. Ø Have in date Occupational First Aid at Work certification and Diving First Aid certification. Ø Be proficient in the use of computers and MS software. Ø Fully understand and implement the procedures and working practices of SGS as laid down in the company manuals and other documentation. Ø Have good leadership and communication abilities. Ø Be appointed in writing by SGS to hold the position of Diving Supervisor to supervise diving operations on behalf of the company. Position Responsibilities and Job Description Reporting directly to Chief Operating Officer for SGS Singapore Diving Pte. Ltd, the Operations Manager is the immediate charge of the diving operation and will be responsible for all repair and project and safety whilst on site. His duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Ø Prepare repair or project quotation and liaise with client for carry put of the job; Ø Ensure compliance of all operations with local and SGS regulations (whichever is more stringent), international codes of practice (where required) and best practice at all times; Ø Ensure the diving operation is carried out in accordance with the diving project plan; Ø Ensure that relevant hazard identification and risk assessment has been carried out for the diving operation, and to update it to suit the actual conditions on site, and to communicate the findings to all members of the dive team, and ensure it is understood and accepted by all affected parties before diving operations commence; Ø Conduct "pre-dive/work" meetings before each job with the vessel Captain/Chief Engineer; Ø Ensure that all PTW requirements are in place and all LOTO requirements established and maintained during diving operations; Ø Ensure that all pre-dive preparations and checks have been satisfactorily carried out and completed; Ø Conduct Tool Box meeting before the start of diving operations on a daily shift basis. Ø Stop Work in the event of unsafe working conditions; Ø Manage on-site any emergencies that may occur during the diving operation; Ø Ensure that the Emergency Response Procedure is available and tested; Ø Ensure all divers are punctual for work; Ø Confirm all divers are fit to dive prior to their daily dive works, and hold a valid in-dated diving medical certificate; Ø Ensure day to day operations of the diving projects are covered by suitable diving team personnel and equipment on site; Ø Ensure all equipment are maintained in date for test and ready for use as and when required; Ø Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the dive team members; Ø Report to the Chief Opearting Officer any non-compliance of point above during any operation; Ø Represent the company to customers in a professional manner; Ø Ensure all project documentation, dive records and associated documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner; Ø Provide Lessons Learnt report at the completion of each project; Ø Any other business the Chief Operating Officer request in line with the position role and responsibility and on mutual agreement with the employee.
