Job Opportunity for Patient Support Coordinator
The National Cancer Centre Singapore's Division of Medical Oncology is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Support Coordinator to join their Lung Cancer Education and Advocacy for Patients (LEAP) team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Navigation: The Coordinator will review new patients in clinic, understanding their health background, current health literacy, and psychosocial profile to assess their immediate needs and make appropriate recommendations and referrals.
- Assist with Patient Queries Post Consultation: The Coordinator will assist patients with queries post-consultation, including providing guidance on supportive therapy for common side effects/toxicities of treatment, clarifying appointments/chemotherapy slots, and directing patients to relevant specialists as necessary.
- Patient Support, Education, Events, and Others: The Coordinator will update patient databases to track patient progress, provide patient education through social media and website sharing, link patients with external organizations, and coordinate events for patient support groups and exercise activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant discipline, preferably with a life science background.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a healthcare setting.
- Good communication and people skills, compassionate, and empathic.
- Ability to interact and liaise with other departments and agencies, including government bodies and private institutions.
- Competent in using computer software and programs to assess relevant patient information.
- Able to work independently with initiative and creativity.
- Preferably effectively bilingual or fluent in local dialects to communicate with patients.
