Job Description:
Ensure the implementation of quality nursing care through review and update of policies, procedures and continual monitoring of clinical practice.
Maintain up-to-date clinical and managerial developments in the health care field, implementing new ideas and systems where appropriate.
Ensure advance care planning (ACP) and InterRAI assessment are carried with residents as part of their care planning.
Responsible for the supervision, evaluation and disciplining of multi-disciplinary team within scope of responsibility.
Lead in Quality Assurance Committee and Infection Control Committee.
Maintain systematic inventory control of drugs in-wards stocks and all assets acquired in order to achieve optimal utilization and safe storage.
Ensure that all the equipment, machines, instruments in the Nursing Department are properly maintained and licensed.
Ensures quality audits are planned and conducted periodically.
Appointment as Clinical Governance Officer (CGO) Under HealthCare Service Act (HCSA) for licensee.
Assists the licensee in clinical governance and technical oversight of nursing home services e.g., planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of the nursing home service.
Ensure the safe storage of all confidential files, records, documents; and that patients’ confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Ensure accurate monitoring of staffing levels to match hospital activity with appropriate staff, utilizing an effective combination of permanent and contract staff.
Ensure the provision of effective recruitment programmes in line with department budgets and expansion plans.
Ensure that senior nurse coverage is provided for the nursing home at all times, and to provide an on-call back-up service.
Budget, purchase and monitor all the fixed assets in the Nursing Department.
Assists Executive Officer in identifying new programmes for the patients and special projects to meet any service gaps.
Assist the Executive Officer in the Public Relations, Marketing roles through attendance at functions, meetings and conferences, and through his/her participation and projection of a positive, professional image of the Nursing Home.
Requirements:
A Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB), with a post-graduate qualifications in geriatric nursing.
With at least 10 years of working experience in a supervisory position and demonstrated ability and executive leadership; multi ward-based experience will be an advantage.
