Overview
What the role is:
As an Engineer, you may be deployed to one of PUB's five Operations Departments or other departments based on organisational needs, to manage and develop Singapore's water resources.
Catchment & Waterways (C&W): plan, develop and manage reservoirs and waterways for water supply and flood control, integrating them with the surrounding environment in a sustainable manner.
Water Supply (Plants) (WSP): operate and maintain Water Treatment Plants and Desalination Plants to provide an adequate and reliable potable water supply at economical cost.
Water Supply (Network) (WSN): deliver good water to businesses and end-users 24/7, ensuring reliable and high-quality supply through network optimisation, maintenance/renewal, and data management.
Water Reclamation (Plants) (WRP): treat used water to quality suitable for NEWater or Industrial Water, and ensure safe discharge to the sea; deployments may be to Jurong, Ulu Pandan, Kranji, Changi, or NEWater Factories in Bedok or Kranji.
Water Reclamation (Network) (WRN): collect and convey used water for reclamation cost-effectively and reliably, covering planning & design of sewerage infrastructures, network operation and maintenance, and project management.
What you will be working on:
Oversee plant operations and activities to ensure plants operate at design capacity reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with stringent water quality requirements.
Ensure the used water network is adequate and available to serve upcoming developments in Singapore.
Plan, design, implement and oversee transmission mains laying and other infrastructure projects and service reservoirs to enhance the water supply network to meet future demands.
Manage reservoir operations and the maintenance contracts for reservoirs, water storage infrastructures and stormwater collection facilities.
Implement, procure, administer and manage drainage projects and related contracts to ensure timely delivery in accordance with contract, safety and budgetary requirements.
Engage with stakeholders, agencies, consultants, contractors and other public bodies to resolve issues and ensure smooth project implementation.
What we are looking for:
Degree in Civil / Environmental / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
Able to work well independently and in teams.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
Proficient in IT (e.g., Microsoft Office) and data analytics tools (e.g., Qlik Sense is an advantage).
