Our platform supports over 100 derivatives, 16 spot trading pairs and more than 30 cryptocurrencies. Role Overview The Funds & Wallets system powers the custody of digital assets, allowing thousands of customers to deposit margin into our Trading Engine. As the Custody Engineering Lead, you will partner with Trading and Wallet Technology Engineers to design, build and secure deposit, custody and withdrawal services, while expanding our supported currencies and networks. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of secure, efficient custody solutions for multiple blockchains. Collaborate with the Head of Custody and Wallet Technology Engineers to define strategy and roadmap. Mentor a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement. Drive integration of new cryptocurrencies and blockchain networks into our custody infrastructure. Optimize deposit and withdrawal processes for speed and reliability. Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, security standards and regulatory compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to custody and wallet operations. Oversee build, test, integration and deployment pipelines in partnership with Dev‐Ops engineers. Stay up‐to‐date with advancements in blockchain technology, cryptography and digital asset security. Contribute to the overall design and evolution of the BitMEX platform. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline. At least 8 years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a senior or leadership role focused on cryptocurrency. Deep understanding of blockchain technologies, cryptographic principles and digital asset security best practices. Proven experience designing and implementing secure, scalable custody solutions. Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python. Exceptional leadership abilities and an entrepreneurial spirit. Strategic thinking and execution skills in dynamic, fast‐paced environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Awareness of security threat/vulnerability impact and mitigation.
