Vice President of Product Engineering – 2 Hour Learning (Remote) Looking to architect the future of AI‑powered education? 2 Hour Learning seeks a senior technical leader to drive product engineering in a fast‑growing, AI‑first learning platform. This is a full‑time (40 h/week) contractor role with a compensation of $200 USD/hour ($400 k/year). Overview As VP of Product Engineering, you’ll serve as the de‑facto CTO for our educational product portfolio, defining technical strategy, driving architectural excellence, and ensuring measurable student outcomes. Your technical vision will directly influence product roadmap, deployment, and continuous innovation. What You Will Be Doing Leverage deep education product expertise to guide strategic and architectural decisions. Create comprehensive technical specifications that prioritize elegance, efficiency, and future scalability. Pioneer the implementation of advanced generative AI technologies to streamline engineering workflows. What You Won’t Be Doing Focusing solely on team management – value comes from tech expertise and business acumen. Getting bogged down in bureaucratic processes – we keep overhead minimal. Defining abstract strategies disconnected from implementation. Key Responsibilities Act as the de‑facto CTO for our product portfolio, taking ownership of core technical competencies. Drive measurable business outcomes through strategic execution and architectural excellence. Basic Requirements Passionate expertise in data‑driven learning science and its practical applications. 7+ years of pivotal architecture and design decisions on software projects. 2+ years leading design initiatives that leverage cloud computing services (primarily AWS). 4+ years in positions with comprehensive technical and delivery ownership of revenue‑generating products. Experience building product features that harness advanced capabilities of Generative AI. Proven success using Generative AI to optimize and streamline work processes. About 2 Hour Learning 2 Hour Learning is an AI‑driven personalized learning platform that helps students master academics in just two hours a day. With student outcomes in the top 1‑2 % nationally, we’re redefining education for the AI era. Working with Us This is a full‑time (40 h per week), long‑term position.
