Roles & Responsibilities Hedge Fund Operations – Japanese Equities (Buy Side)Location : Singapore Office Company: ACG Management Pte. Ltd. Ltd. is a Singapore-based investment management firm specializing in Japanese equities through two complementary strategies, with additional exposure to other geographic markets. We operate fundamental investment approaches with a focus on mid to small cap names and maintain a high volume of positions across sectors. Our trading desk is critical in executing our investment strategies efficiently while minimizing market impact and optimizing execution quality. We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with Japanese language skills and a strong interest in financial markets to join our trading desk as a Junior Buy-Side Execution Trader. This role offers excellent training and mentorship opportunities to develop into a skilled execution trader, working closely with experienced portfolio managers and contributing to our investment success through effective trade execution. Key Responsibilities Trade Execution & Market Making Execute equity trades across markets for our strategies Manage order flow and optimize execution timing to minimize market impact Utilize various execution algorithms and direct market access tools Execute block trades, program trades, and portfolio transitions efficiently Monitor intraday market conditions and adjust execution strategies accordingly Market Analysis & Strategy Analyze market microstructure and liquidity patterns for optimal execution Assess market impact and transaction costs across different execution venues Collaborate with portfolio managers on trade timing and execution strategy Monitor and report on execution quality and best execution compliance Risk Management & Controls Manage trading limits and risk parameters in real-time Monitor position limits and portfolio exposure Ensure compliance with investment guidelines and regulatory requirements Implement pre-trade and post-trade risk controls Handle trade errors and exception processing Broker & Counterparty Management Manage relationships with executing brokers Coordinate with Japanese brokers on special situations and block trades Communicate directly with Japanese counterparties in native language Assess and onboard new trading counterparties as needed Technology & Systems Utilize order management systems (OMS) and execution management systems (EMS)Manage direct market access (DMA) connections to Japanese exchanges Adapt to new trading technologies and electronic execution tools Reporting & Analysis Prepare daily trading reports and execution analysis Report on market conditions and trading performance to management Support month-end and audit processes with trading documentation Maintain trade blotters and ensure accurate trade capture Requirements Experience: 1 to 3 years in financial markets (trading, operations, or related field) OR recent graduate with strong academic background in finance / economics Market Interest: Genuine interest in Japanese equity markets and eagerness to learn market dynamics Learning Mindset: Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in fast-paced environments with strong analytical skills Technology: Basic familiarity with financial systems; willingness to learn OMS / EMS and trading platforms Language: Native or business-level Japanese proficiency required for broker communication and market interaction Personal Qualities: Strong work ethic, resilience under pressure, attention to detail, and collaborative team player Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English Drive: Self-motivated with ambition to grow into a senior execution trader role Technical Skills (Good to Have): Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg terminal experience, and quantitative analysis skills Why Join Us Join a Japan-focused hedge fund with a strong track record and disciplined investment processes Comprehensive training program with mentorship from experienced traders and portfolio managers Access to institutional-quality trading infrastructure and technology platforms with full training provided Collaborative, supportive team environment that invests in your professional development #J-18808-Ljbffr
