About the Role: Application Support Analyst
They are looking for a skilled
Application Support Analyst
with a keen interest in
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
principles to help maintain and enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of their mission-critical applications.
In this role, you will act as a vital link between development and operations teams, leveraging software engineering techniques to improve system resilience, automate processes, and enhance incident management and response.
Key Responsibilities
Incident & Problem Management
Provide Tier 2/3 support for production systems, including diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, conduct root cause analyses (RCA), and implement long-term solutions.
Coordinate and execute testing and deployment of application changes.
Develop and maintain custom scripts to generate customer reports.
Enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively detect and address issues.
Performance & Reliability
Define and monitor SLAs for application uptime and reliability.
Optimize application performance through system/process redesign and by collaborating with infrastructure teams to fine-tune databases and servers.
Automation
Build automation tools and scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, C++, Bash) to reduce manual tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Work closely with developers, infrastructure, and security teams internally and externally to strengthen system architecture.
Create and maintain documentation including runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational best practices.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in application support or SRE roles, preferably within the financial services sector.
Solid understanding of back-office operations in securities and/or derivatives markets.
Familiarity with financial products, especially equities, is advantageous.
Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, distributed systems.
Practical experience with:
Scripting languages (PowerShell, Batch, Python, Bash)
Microsoft .NET (C#) applications
Microsoft SQL Server: able to interpret stored procedures and manage large datasets
Awareness of application security and best practices in system reliability.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
ITIL certification is a plus.
Bonus: Experience in financial services with a strong grasp of end-to-end brokerage processes for securities and futures.
