Overview Underwriter, Property at AXA XL – Singapore. AXA XL is actively seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and globally inquisitive Underwriter to join our Property team in Singapore. Responsibilities Review submissions including applications, policy wording, due diligence reports, financial models and legal documentation while conducting research and risk analysis to determine degree of risk for each transaction. Calculate the appropriate risk premium by considering risk costs inherent to the relevant sector, reinsurance cessions and underwriting and administrative costs to ensure profitability. Proactively advise, assist, service and follow up with clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction of their insurance requirements. Engage in effective marketing and relationship management to initiate opportunities for cross‐selling offered products. Maintain awareness of all claims advised and support recovery processes. Work collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and the management team. Reporting line: You will report to the Underwriting Manager, Property. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience in the relevant class of business, with knowledge and skills of a fully competent practitioner. Perform tasks according to established procedures, with some discretion. Marketing: plan for sales and business development, integrating techniques, tools, and information to support profitable growth over a defined period. Negotiation/Sales: plan, structure and conduct negotiations with brokers and/or clients to reach outcomes that gain acceptance of all parties. Analytical Skills: visualize, gather information, articulate, analyze and solve complex problems to inform key business decisions. Interpersonal Savvy: build strong relationships with brokers, clients and colleagues to strengthen AXA XL's position in the market. Industry Knowledge: understanding of the insurance industry and product portfolios to contribute to results.
