Lead Material Handler

A high-level position that focuses on the safe and efficient handling of materials, requiring excellent technical skills and leadership abilities.

Job Description

The job holder will be responsible for leading material handling activities, ensuring all assigned work is completed on time and to the intended quality. They will interface with other organizational units as required and maintain a positive and safe working environment. The role also involves providing technical expertise, participating in model reviews, and interacting closely with safety engineers.

The job holder must have a minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering setup for upstream oil & gas projects, serving in a lead material handling engineer capacity. They must be able to perform thorough studies for components requiring material handling, provide solutions for handling items such as compressors, GTGs, WHRU, pumps, heat exchangers, critical valves, and piping inline instruments and special items.

They must be familiar with all types of cranes and its restrictions, establish material handling routes, and incorporate reserve volumes in the 3D model. The job holder must also identify specific material handling requirements within and outside the supplier package limits and participate in meetings with suppliers for handling requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other equivalent engineering specialization.
  • Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client technical authorities, and client's project management representatives and approving bodies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Familiarity with using Navisworks.
