Head of Engineering AI Solutions

About the Role We are seeking an accomplished Head of Engineering (AI Solutions)to lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced AI-driven solutions for our government and enterprise clients. This role is ideal for a technology leader who combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision and proven experience deploying AI and machine learning systems at scale. As the Head of Engineering, you will define the engineering roadmap, shape the architecture of cutting-edge AI products, and lead a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps professionals to deliver secure, compliant, and high-performance AI systems for public sector use. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end engineering strategy and execution for AI and data-driven solutions across multiple government and enterprise projects. Design and oversee scalable AI architectures , integrating machine learning models, data pipelines, and analytics platforms into production environments. Drive deployment of AI solutions on cloud and hybrid infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP, or GovCloud), ensuring compliance with IM8 and cybersecurity standards. Collaborate with government stakeholders, solution architects, and project managers to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions. Champion MLOps best practices —including continuous model training, versioning, deployment automation, and monitoring. Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence. Evaluate emerging technologies in AI, NLP, computer vision, and data analytics , assessing feasibility for new products and government applications. Provide technical governance and architectural oversight across multiple concurrent projects. Partner with senior leadership to define long-term product strategy, roadmap, and success metrics. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in AI/ML solution design and delivery . Proven experience leading teams in AI deployment within government or regulated sectors (e.g., GovTech, HTX, HDB, or other public agencies). Strong background in cloud architecture , MLOps , and DevOps practices. Proficient in Python, Java, or Go , and experienced with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Hugging Face . Experience designing secure and compliant data systems aligned with IM8 or similar regulatory frameworks. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical ideas to senior executives and government stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership in scaling engineering teams and managing large AI transformation projects from prototype to production. Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, or AI-as-a-Service platforms. Familiarity with data governance , privacy-preserving AI , and ethical AI principles .
