Oil Tanker Operations Specialist

The Technical Superintendent plays a crucial role in ensuring the technical operations of assigned oil tankers meet the required standards and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure vessels achieve technical standards and performance by implementing efficient maintenance systems and schedules.
  • Certificate Management: Maintain up-to-date certificates and documents for vessels, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Planned Maintenance: Implement an effective planned maintenance system to minimize downtime and optimize vessel performance.
  • Survey Coordination: Organize and manage class, statutory, and other vessel surveys to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Dry-Docking and Repairs: Prepare and manage dry-dockings and repairs to maintain vessel integrity and performance.
  • Crew Performance: Review and promote crew performance to ensure optimal vessel operation.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer with a COC Class 2 or 3, or equivalent experience as a Technical Superintendent for oil and bunker tankers.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and leadership skills to motivate and direct a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, management, and problem-solving skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
