Job Scope: Preparation of food: Stock-take food delivery from vendor and prepare ingredients and equipment for each student table before the start of the practical lesson. Cut and separate out the portion of the food for the teachers before the start of the lessons and also in between when there are lessons back to back. Stock-take food at the end of each term, and inform the teachers what has expired and help clear certain items. Cleaning of areas: Help to clean up the kitchen and other rooms if necessary after the lessons. Wash, clean and store away all the utensils and cutlery at the end of the day. Ensure that there are sufficient stock of all cleaning materials, i.e., dishwashing liquid, detergent. Safety aspects: Turn on and off gas levers at the beginning and end of each lesson, washing of the tea towels and dish cloths in the washing machine and drying them in the dryer and fold them once they are done. Clean up the kitchens and equipment at the end of the day so as to ensure that no leftover food is in the basin/sink and that the hygiene of the kitchen is not compromised. Check if the equipment works. Report any faults or issues that need immediate attention, such as faulty taps/blender/fans/oven, etc., to teachers as soon as possible to avoid serious situations arising, having particular regard for own health and safety and the health and safety of other users. Ad-hoc Events: Be involved in the preparation of events and activities, which will include practical examinations that may be conducted outside curriculum time, including helping to clean up after the activities. Requirements: Qualifications: Minimally has primary school education. Has a valid food hygiene certificate. Experience: Working experience in food preparation, food hygiene, and cooking is preferred. Experience in a MOE school environment is an advantage. Skills: Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards regarding food preparation and storage. Knowledge of using kitchen equipment. Working Hours: 7am to 1pm (no lunch break). Contract Period: 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026 (Option to extend to 31 Dec 2027). Service not required during school holidays (i.e., 1 week in Mar, in June, 1 week in Sep, in Nov, and Dec, Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays), unless necessary. Location: Tampines.
