Director – Prosecution, Corporate and Legislation Branch Join Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) as the Director of the Prosecution, Corporate & Legislation Branch. What The Role Is At IRAS, we partner with you to deliver quality tax services and foster a competitive tax environment for our nation's social and economic growth. Responsibilities include: Driving the prosecution of tax offences under the tax statutes. Reviewing corporate legal matters with an eye on legal risks. Supervising the drafting of tax legislation to strengthen Singapore's tax framework. Managing a team of legal officers, motivating them to meet divisional goals. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and collaborating with other directors. What You Will Be Working On The Director will lead a branch tasked to prosecute cases involving income tax, GST, property tax, stamp duties and other taxes before the State Courts. The role includes: Leading prosecution court work and assessments, engaging with law enforcement agencies. Providing clear and effective legal advice on corporate matters and statutory functions. Representing IRAS in complex prosecution cases and proceedings. Collaborating with tax policy teams to review legislative drafting. Mentoring junior officers and ensuring high standards of legal practice. The Director's Work Will Include Prosecution Court work and Prosecution Assessments. Legal Advice for corporate matters and statutory functions. Court representation for IRAS interests. Legislative drafting and reform initiatives. Strategic Leadership, Performance and People Management. Training and professional development of legal teams. Qualifications and Experience Excellent law degree and admission to the Singapore Bar. At least 10 years of Post-Qualification Experience with proven expertise in prosecution court work, contractual review, administrative law, and legislative drafting. Comprehensive understanding of Singapore's tax statutes including Income Tax Act, GST Act, Property Tax Act and Stamp Duties Act. Leadership & Collaboration Strong leadership capabilities to manage branch operations and drive divisional projects. Strong people management skills to lead, mentor, and inspire legal teams. Collaborative mindset within the Law Division to support IRAS's organisational goals. What We Are Looking For We are seeking an experienced legal professional to lead the Prosecution, Corporate & Legislation Branch within IRAS's Law Division.
