SPA Therapist

Duties & Responsibilities Guest Experience and Consultation Provide a warm, professional welcome and ensure personalised and attentive high standards of spa and wellness therapies. Provide trained treatment protocols with precision, hygiene practices and attention to detail in ensuring high standards of customer care. Conduct pre-treatment consultations to understand guest needs, preferences, and any medical concerns. Recommend suitable treatments and products based on guest wellness goals. Offer post-treatment advice on skincare, relaxation techniques, and wellness routines. Knowledgeable in treatment protocols, retail skills and aim for rebooking, spa guests’ retention rates and memberships. Hygiene and Safety Compliance Maintain the highest hygiene standards for spa rooms, treatment beds, and equipment. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including disinfecting tools and linens. Adhere to Sama Wellness brand standards in accordance with industry best practices. Product Knowledge and Upselling Have in-depth technical knowledge of skincare, benefits of massage oils, and wellness products. Recommend spa retail products for home care wellness routines as appropriate. Upsell and cross-sell spa and wellness experiences, membership programs, wellness activities, events and packages in a professional manner. Team Collaboration & Professional Development Work closely with the Director of Wellness, Wellness Supervisor, Wellness Concierge, Wellness Therapists and other departments to ensure seamless spa and wellness journeys. Assist in training new Wellness therapists and sharing best practices. Stay updated on new spa trends, wellness therapies, and skincare innovations. Operational Provide all guests with a wellness consultation form and ensure all required details are filled; ask questions if more information is needed, especially existing medical conditions. Seek wellness management’s assistance when in doubt. Ensure the working area is clean and hygienic in appearance. Assist in making Wellness bookings and checking and verifying guest bookings by repeating the information with guests. Contact guests to re-confirm bookings one day prior. Check and assist with setting up the daily operations of the Wellness Area. Ensure the music in the Wellness area and treatment rooms is operating properly. Provide service promptly, courteously and accurately. Request and collect stock and supplies in accordance with divisions’ stock levels. Study and evaluate operations and procedures and suggest improvements to the Wellness Management. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene at the Wellness area. Ensure retail is offered appropriately to guests. Participate in the inventory of the Spa and ensure it is well maintained. Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in safe condition. Handle guest complaints and record all guest comments during treatment; inform wellness management. Prepare guest invoices and present them before or after Wellness, Gym and membership offerings. Prepare and serve Wellness refreshments and water; ensure infused water on Wellness and Gym floors is available with sufficient servings. Prepare cold and warm towels in the pantry and reception fridge. Ensure all required information is obtained on Wellness and Gyms’ activity appointment schedules for the following day. Answer the telephone within three rings. If unable to attend to guests, call them back immediately after attending the previous guests. Escort first-time guests to and from the Wellness and Gym areas or as otherwise required. Training & Development Attend training as required by The Initial Sama and Sama Wellness. Administration Record daily requisitions in the balance or record book. Prepare end-of-day daily revenue reports and other reports required by the Wellness Management. Create guest profiles and ensure they are not duplicated in the Wellness software system. Ensure guest profiles are entered with correct information (names, contact number, e-mail address) in the Wellness software system. Assign and distribute wellness/spa bookings evenly throughout the day to ensure therapist commissions are fairly distributed. Report lost and found items and inform Wellness Management within one hour. Include details: date/time found/lost, the person who found/lost it, and location. General Establish attentive guest relations and rapport with all wellness colleagues and guests. Report breakage or malfunction of any item or equipment on the Wellness and Gym floors and record in the daily operations report; follow up on the repair and maintenance and inform Wellness management immediately. Provide high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the Wellness and Gym areas. Report for duty punctually; frequent tardiness will result in disciplinary actions. Maintain professional grooming and presentation during duty hours. Participate in safety and other training required by The Initial Sama. Maintain a professional working manner and show enthusiasm and motivation at all times. Understand and adhere to The Initial Sama rules and regulations and the Wellness policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety; attend training if required. Assist other team members when required to complete tasks assigned. Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Job Requirements: Qualifications Certification on either the following recognized by The Singapore Police Force and Singapore massage establishment license unit such as CIDESCO Body Therapy Diploma/CIBTAC Level 3 Diploma in Spa Therapy / ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage / other qualifications awarded by the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC) and the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC)Minimum 5 years in a similar role in a hotel spa; upscale environment would be an advantage. Proficiency in English (written & spoken)Second language preferred Knowledge of latest wellness trends would be an advantage Understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents Professional written skills in composing text messages or emails #J-18808-Ljbffr
