Job Title: Development Specialist
Our organization is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Development Specialist. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the fundraising efforts, developing and implementing effective strategies to secure grants and donations from public and private sources.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans and campaigns
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, fostering excellent stewardship and ensuring their continued support
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and objectives
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of donor databases and records
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on fundraising progress and achievements
Required Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of work experience in fundraising or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in securing significant funding and donations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to articulate complex ideas and build strong relationships
  • Experience in team management and leadership, with ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve goals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make informed decisions

Responsibilities include supervising the team responsible for fundraising, donor stewardship and public relations, developing and implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns, fostering excellent relations with donors through donor stewardship events and communications, aligning and implementing public relations strategy to support annual workplan and fundraising strategies, managing and overseeing the maintenance of the database of donors, preparing quarterly operations budget and reports for internal and external reporting, and performing liaison function with NCSS and external agencies for all fund-raising and public relations related activities.
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 4 years of work experience which should include at least 2 years of relevant experience in fundraising, at least 3 years' experience in leading a team, excellent written and oral communication skills, experience in Public Relations would be an advantage, experience in a non-profit / charity organisation would be an advantage, and degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications or any related field would be an advantage.
