HEAD OF LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE, DIRECTOR

About the role

You will be based in Singapore reporting to the CEO and be part of the global Management Team. This is a high-profile role providing direct C-suite interaction, and the opportunity to be at the forefront of digital assets and blockchain technology innovations.

Key responsibilities:

·Lead and manage all aspects of legal and regulatory compliance matters

·Act as the MLRO and oversee the implementation of AML/CFT/PF and sanctions framework and policies

·Act as the key liaison officer with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and manage all regulatory reportings

·Take ownership of and implement regular updates to the trading platform legal documentation

·Analyse and provide regulatory guidance on updates and enhancements to products and processes

·Draft and review a wide range of commercial and legal agreements, as well as internal policies

·Work with the internal departments to lead and develop internal processes surrounding customer diligence, AML and sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and regulatory reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements

·Keep abreast of legal and regulatory matters and cascade to the relevant teams where required

·Provide legal advisory support and act as point of contact on corporate secretarial matters

·Conduct internal staff training on AML/CFT/PF/sanctions and other legal/regulatory matters

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

·Able to work 2-3 days per week

·15+ years progressive experience in Financial Services/Banking/FinTech. Experience working in a CMS and/or RMO entity will be advantageous

·Experience in digital assets or blockchain would be advantageous

·Experience dealing directly with the Monetary Authority of Singapore

·Expert knowledge of the Singapore regulatory landscape including requirements pertaining to Customer Due Diligence/KYC/onboarding of individuals, corporates and Financial Institutions to a financial platform

·Law degree from a reputable University

·Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills

·Excellent interpersonal skills to work across seniority, teams and locations

·Meticulous attention to detail

·Able to work in a fast-paced, innovative Fintech environment

·Self-driven and self-starter who takes initiative and can prioritize multiple projects under tight timelines

·Ability to work independently

·Commercially minded team player with a proactive can-do attitude

·Strong sense of ownership
