Primary Objectives of Position
Manage, lead and motivate the Train Team to maintain the Signalling Trainborne activities so as to ensure the safety, reliability and availability of the systems and meet the standards agreed with Operating Department.
Manage and co-ordinate IT Security for Department.
Ensure all new staff and existing staff complete their training/yearly assessment according to plan.
Major Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the Trainborne Maintenance team as required and be responsible for the maintenance and assurance activities in accordance with the procedures and safety requirements.
Organize and ensure major failures are responded to and rectified within a reasonable time.
Evaluate fault data and remedial works performed related to maintenance work. Conduct investigations and fault analysis of persistent faults and implement remedial actions.
Support Technical Support Section Head, when necessary, in the day-to-day maintenance activities for Signalling in accordance with the Work Instructions and Maintenance Manuals.
Participate in the fault analysis of persistent faults for the Signalling and ATC Trainborne system.
Prepare maintenance and fault reports.
Provide necessary support in the preparation for both internal and external audits (including IT Security Audits).
Ensure proper documentation and complete records are kept for future audits, such as proper filing and updating of all manuals, software, drawings, modification, fault reports and work done records.
Participate in the administration of the maintenance logistics required to ensure proper functioning of all maintenance activities.
Participate in the safety inspection and support the auditing by internal and external auditors of the Signalling and Trainborne system.
Assist in liaising with LTA in T&C of project activities before, during and after handover.
Ensure that Work Instructions and Risk Management in the Signalling are reviewed.
Ensure proper housekeeping and security of Signalling maintenance offices, and equipment rooms in stations and depot.
Assist in preparing training materials and delivering training as required for the Signalling department.
Ensure the equipment and systems in the Signalling department comply with IT Security Policy in-line with CCOP and CP8.
The above activities are by no means exhaustive and are subject to amendment whenever needed.
Specific Safety Responsibilities
Ensure all safety tours are conducted as planned.
Ensure that any unsafe practices are reported and corrected accordingly.
Job Specifications
Minimum Education / Qualifications
Possess a Diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunication / Computer/ Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
Those without a diploma but with minimum years of relevant experience will also be considered.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience
Preferably at least 5 years working experience as Management Support Officer with 2 years in the field of Railway Signalling.
Possess full ACTA certification in OJT and facilitated training or equivalent.
Knowledge/Skills
Strong people, planning and organizing skills.
Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Communication Based Signalling system, Automatic Train Control system, Signalling Interlocking and Platform Screen Door system will be an advantage.
