Clic is a research collaboration between the University of Cambridge and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) hosted by the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES).
The centre aims to develop neuroscience-based interventions for lifelong flexible learning, launched in 2020 and funded by the National Research Foundation Singapore.
A multidisciplinary team conducts innovative research in the science of learning. This involves psychologists, neuroscientists, linguists and educators who work together to develop new knowledge in this field.
The Importance of Lifelong Flexible Learning
In today's rapidly changing world, individuals must adapt to advances in technology and globalisation, requiring them to develop new skills to ensure resilience through a culture of lifelong flexible learning. Mental flexibility is key to adapting to change, problem-solving creatively and making the most of opportunities.
Developing a Neuroscience-Based Model of Flexible Learning
Researchers at CLIC are developing a model that takes into account social contextual factors to inform the design of practical interventions for use in schools and the workplace. These interventions aim to prepare individuals for future career success and support their wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
We are looking for a Research Assistant to support our research activities on cognitive flexibility and learning, and training-related brain changes among adults and adolescents. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic interdisciplinary research environment, collaborating with project team members and taking on opportunities for involvement in various research activities. Key responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, conducting interviews, liaising with school personnel, survey construction and administration, data processing and analysis, project management, and report preparation.
Requirements for the Role
To be considered for this role, candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in psychology with a background in cognition, emotion or related fields. Relevant experience in conducting and analysing surveys, psychological testing and cognitive experiments is also required. Experience with statistical analysis using SPSS and/or R language, good ICT skills, communication skills, organisational skills and ability to work effectively within deadlines are also essential.
