Job Description Purpose of the role Brookfield is recruiting for a Vice President – Investments (VP) for the Renewable Power & Transition business in our Singapore office. The role represents an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic global team. This professional will lead the identification, assessment and execution of investment opportunities (acquisition and disposition) in the renewable power and energy transition sectors, including investments in industrial and hard-to-abate GHG emissions sectors in Southeast Asia and the broader Asia‑Pacific region. The VP will be responsible for assessing investment opportunities, driving business development and transaction initiatives, and is expected to lead transactions from origination to execution of definitive documentation. The VP will lead investments for Brookfield’s Catalytic Transition Fund (CTF) and capital deployment vehicles focused on renewable energy and the global transition to net‑zero. CTF is Brookfield’s transition fund dedicated to investments in the clean energy and transition assets in emerging economies across regions such as South America, Central America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will lead the end‑to‑end execution of a transaction, which includes onboarding consultants, managing financial due diligence and analysis, preparing the business case and gathering supporting bid documents. The Vice President will also assist in developing business networks to find new investment targets. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned investment professional recognised for innovative problem solving and financial acumen. They will bring depth of knowledge in the renewable and energy transition space in Southeast Asia and will have built a robust business sense and investment judgement. Responsibilities Origination Support the implementation of the business development and transaction strategy. Lead industry and market research to support the development of investment strategies or identify transaction opportunities in Southeast Asia with a focus on the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Conduct fundamental company and industry research. Support the investment thesis and identification of value creation strategies and assist in developing ideas for a transaction / deal structure. Network and develop new investment ideas to grow the business. Execution Lead the team in all stages of a transaction’s life cycle (acquisitions and divestments), collaborating with internal functional partners and business group leads as well as interfacing with counterparties and external advisors. Lead the due diligence process for a transaction that supports the validation of the business case supporting an acquisition and identify key transaction issues. This includes modelling and valuation analysis working with internal functional teams such as tax, legal, finance, operations and commercial. Lead negotiation, documentation and structuring of the transaction. Lead the preparation and presentation of investment materials to senior internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise and articulate manner. Asset Management Constantly and strategically think of ways to improve portfolio companies / investments’ functional units within the platform and the company as a whole. Work with management teams on strategic business initiatives at portfolio companies. Monitor ongoing financial and operational performance of investments. Leadership Manage, coach and develop talent by leading, overseeing and coaching investment professionals. Provide constructive and timely feedback to ensure quality team outcomes. Represent Brookfield externally and be a strong ambassador for Brookfield going forward. Qualifications 7 years of experience as an investment professional. Exposure to the infrastructure and/or renewable industry in Southeast Asia. A proven track record of leading a team throughout the end‑to‑end execution of a transaction. Superior financial modelling and due diligence capabilities. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders. Exercises sound and thoughtful judgment with strong leadership abilities to empower and mobilize a team. Organized and detail‑oriented; ability to work in situations with changing priorities and multiple simultaneous assignments. Ability to work with deal team members that are located across geographies. Excellent verbal and written communication; experience presenting analyses to senior leaders and ability to lead and drive initiatives. Fluency in English is essential; additional Asian languages are an advantage. Team‑oriented; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast‑paced environment. Strategic and long‑term thinker with strong analytical and creative problem‑solving ability; ability to think laterally for the benefit of the division and company as a whole. Self‑motivated with respect to managing workload and own professional development. A professional positive attitude and capable of contributing to a dynamic, fast‑paced and team‑oriented culture.
