Head of Trading/Chief Risk Officer – Multi-Strategy Family Office We are seeking a high‐calibre , commercially minded Chief Trading & Risk Officer (CTRO)who brings genuine trading experience , leadership presence and sound judgement. This is not a back‐office monitoring role—it is a front‐foot , strategic partner to the CIO and the trading teams. You will help shape the firm's five‐year plan , contribute to new strategies , guide capital allocation , and serve as a respected counterweight to our portfolio managers. The ideal candidate combines risk discipline with trader intuition , and has the gravitas to challenge ideas, mentor talent, and influence decision‐making across the firm. Location: Singapore Reports to: Chief Investment Officer Key Responsibilities Strategic & Commercial Leadership Partner with the CIO on firm‐wide strategy, including new business lines, potential regulatory licensing plans, and long‐term growth. Act as a thought partner on new and existing trading strategies; bring market intuition and independent judgement. Actively contribute to capital allocation discussions , balancing commercial opportunity with risk and capacity constraints. Provide a market‐aware, commercially astute perspective often missing in traditional risk personnel. Leadership Across Trading Teams Command the respect of traders through experience, credibility, and steady judgement. Challenge, coach, and guide PMs and traders; act as a senior voice who can "push back" when necessary. Help elevate the professionalism, discipline, and cohesion of the trading floor. Maintain an open, collaborative, and high‐trust relationship with investment teams while ensuring risk boundaries are respected. Risk Management Framework & Governance Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of a robust risk management framework for a multi‐strategy environment. Instil a risk‐aware but commercially practical culture across teams.Ensure alignment between trading activity, risk appetite, and firm‐wide objectives. Risk Identification, Monitoring & Stress Testing Oversee market, liquidity, counterparty, and trading‐specific risks across asset classes. Monitor margin utilisation, exposure limits, leverage, liquidity, and concentration. Develop and evolve tools, dashboards, and stress tests suitable for a dynamic trading environment. Produce clear, high‐signal reporting for senior leadership. Risk Controls, Compliance & Governance Establish and enforce risk policies, documentation standards, and escalation procedures. Work closely with compliance and operations to uphold governance, regulatory readiness, and transparency. Represent the firm in discussions with regulators and external stakeholders on risk topics. Advisory & Organisational Contribution Serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO and investment committee. Provide market insights, scenario analysis, and risk‐reward perspectives to support decision‐making. Undertake strategic projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership. Professional Background & Qualifications 8+ years of relevant experience in trading, portfolio management, or front‐office risk within a hedge fund, prop trading firm, or multi‐strategy environment. Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate effectively with traders and PMs. Strong grasp of derivatives, leverage, margin frameworks, and multi‐asset risk. Experience overseeing or interacting closely with trading teams, including mentoring or managing junior traders. Deep understanding of portfolio risk assessment, stress testing, and scenario analysis. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced qualifications (CFA/FRM) welcome but secondary to practical trading experience. Excellent communication, judgement, and decision‐making abilities.
