D&E Department
The Design & Engineering (D&E) team drives the technology and innovation we apply across our new developments, and the quality and engineering excellence of data center infrastructure across Vantage's companywide portfolio. D&E evaluates the technical viability of new sites, drives engineering solutions, cost, gating and scheduling efficiencies in line with corporate goals, and serves as subject matter experts across the entire project lifecycle from concept design through to commissioning.
The D&E team collaborates strongly with Sales, Operations, regional management, and global innovation groups along the way. D&E also works hand in hand with the Construction team to develop and drive a vertically integrated design and engineering solutions offering. We ensure existing standards, regulatory frameworks and designs are managed and executed effectively, across our diverse APAC existing market, plus we support the strategic positioning of Vantage's successful entry into emerging markets.

Position Description
Vantage is seeking a Senior Manager, Product & Innovation, APAC. This key role sits within our D&E Department and is responsible for leading and driving innovation across our Design and Engineering Technical Services portfolio.
You will demonstrate your Technical leadership and ability to assess and present solutions to complex engineering challenges, and lead our approach to emerging technologies through your active participation in regional and global D&E Technical, Technology and Innovation forums as you actively engage with counterparts in other Vantage development regions; you will be responsible for working in partnership to support our global initiates and integrate these into D&E engineering design solutions in the APAC region.
Equally you will, through your technical standing and deep subject matter knowledge in the energy, power, environmental and cooling disciplines, drive local initiatives, partnerships and best for each project design solutions. These will need to be translated, localized and integrated into technically fit for purpose, future proofed engineering solutions to provide competitive advantage.
Equally, as technology rapidly advances in the digital infrastructure sector it is essential for Vantage to leverage innovation, renewable technologies and partnerships to overcome key resourcing constraints to enable us to be adaptive in how we position to deliver our future assets; the need for bespoke self-generation, energy storage solutions or complementary innovations may be driven by geographic specific constraints (such as grid power constraints) where we have the opportunity to be truly innovative in support our key clients sustainability strategies as their trusted delivery partner.
You will:
Be presented with complex engineering challenges, both to support current Data Centre portfolio delivery but also to strategically support our future positioning and entry into new horizon markets.
Be asked to leverage technical opportunities, and vendor and partner relationships to effect outstanding technical solutions, balanced against a range of key Vantage success criteria, as part of the D&E Group.
Work in a collaborative manner with key partners across our diverse geographic portfolio to effect Technically robust project delivery, addressing the drivers around speed to market, commercial viability, adaptive design approaches, sustainability, resilience, local standards and regulatory frameworks.
Need to challenge how best to position and integrate technology advancements, and deeply understand our customer application trends, while keeping sustainability front of mind.
Provide robust Technical support across MEP & CSA, design management guidance and oversight around projects ranging from due diligence phase though to fully detailed design phases.
Lead our D&E involvement in due diligence activities, working closely with NSD (New Site Development) and SS (Site Selection) to manage our commercial Go/No Go risk gateway, the internal reporting processes and outcomes, and support our roadmap to 'shovel ready' project delivery.
Essential Job Functions
Take a leadership role in Technical site due diligence and master planning development phases, including site adapts and asset replacement strategies to ensure we maintain reliable, technically sound engineering systems across our asset portfolio.
Be a key point of contact for our Operations team - providing credible technical support to address any site expansions or remediations, fault finding assessments – sharing lessons learned and developing design enhancement strategies, where applicable from a D&E perspective.
Oversee the DMO (the process arm of D&E) to enable the execution and improvement of global standards and requirements – documenting the development process and best practices that are applicable to the APAC region, supporting alignment with our global DMO frameworks while streamlining processes for the APAC regional execution teams.
Document and / or architect global, repeatable development processes and best practice focused on end-to-end execution of data center projects.
Leverage tools and platforms to visualize and automated business processes, best practices and metrics to underpin the success of the regional D&E team and how we deliver and measure the success of our services.
Develop framework of regional lessons learned, working in tandem with the global DMO to share feedback to enable continuous improvement.
Lead updates to design standards and specifications for consistency and maximum system reliability.
Support the team around client interfacing, including technical meetings with vendors, GCs, external consultants and being a Technical SME for our internal Solutions Engineering (client-facing front end) team.
Contribute to cross functional company initiatives to support our APAC strategic objectives and longer-term vision.
Develop and lead updates to the design, procurement, and construction processes.
Duties
Work with other leaders in cross-functional efforts across the VDC APAC organization.
Provide engineering Technical support to New Site Development teams to support the establishment and execution of projects into new regions, r to scale within existing countries we have an operating presence.
Conduct and lead value-based engineering analyses, and provide system, innovation and new technology recommendations based on technical application benefits, ROI and IRR analysis, and ability to support reliable operations and concurrent maintainability.
Engage with corporate user groups and stakeholders.
As a Technical leader in APAC, uphold and support the reputation of Vantage in the market, as you engage widely across our supply chain.
Additional duties as assigned from time to time by executive management.
International travel will be required is expected to be around % but will vary over time as the business expands and workload increases.

Engineering qualification or similar technical field qualification, from an accredited institute.

Strong design management and / project management skills and demonstratable experience.
15+ years of experience in data center engineering, high technology sector design or equivalent.
Data Center experience is essential in this role along with experience in APAC construction markets.
Understanding and familiarity of clean energy, generation, renewable technologies, engineering design software tools, Revit, BIM, and Navisworks environments, MEPS calculation modelling software packages is essential.
