Associate Manager, Software Development

In this role, the focus will be on promoting a 'Platform First' philosophy, fostering the development of a platform that is cohesive, API-accessible, and ensures a uniform user experience. As a Associate Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for building and delivering innovative solutions into our common platform. As an ideal candidate, you have led teams developing cross-platform desktop solutions especially in a fast-paced, agile environment. You know how to build and guide highly effective and high-performing teams, while inspiring them to remain at the cutting edge. Responsibilities Lead a team of software engineers to ensure execution and unlock creativity Take full ownership of initiative and deliver it end to end while working with various stakeholders Develop staff by coaching, facilitating career aspirations and providing growth opportunities Provide insight, feedback, and recommendations to senior management regarding the development, capabilities, and potential of current and future software projects Provide leadership to achieve high standards of “done” in areas of quality, security, scalability, user experience Aid in the design and building of solutions, frameworks, automation, and orchestration for a broad range of applications and infrastructures, including cloud services, and desktop Build collaborative partnerships with the Software Architects, Technical leads, Product Owners, Product Managers and Experience Designers Drive Engineering best practices within the team to ensure efficiency, maintainability, and high quality in all software development projects. Minimum Qualifications BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience (MS in Computer Science or a related degree is preferred) 5+ years of relevant industry experience with relevant experience in supervision of any technical execution among team Relevant experience building cross-platform Desktop/GUI applications on Windows/Linux/Mac Strong experience with desktop technologies and tools such as C++, Python, Go, Qt, Jenkins, GitHub Proven experience with Scrum and agile development processes and methodologies Proactive, quick decision maker with excellent communication and written skills Expert experience with Scrum and Agile development processes and methodologies Experience working with remote teams and other cross-functional stakeholders About Autodesk Welcome to Autodesk Amazing things are created every day with our software – from the greenest buildings and cleanest cars to the smartest factories and biggest hit movies.
