Its major task is to secure external manufacture parts to fulfill LEGO quality standards. The main working platform is external suppliers’ platforms. To ensure energy and cooperative success through simplicity, coherence, and collaboration; to keep decreasing customer claims via more effective and efficient quality function in Development Quality, Supplier Quality Management, and Outgoing Quality Control. To escalate, prevent and detect quality risk before elements reach customers and consumers. To solve multiple quality issues by professional and systematic problem-solving approaches. End orientation to stakeholders and VIP customer service. To satisfy customers, always link to our performance management via continuous improvement. Our team slogan is “Make-Buy same quality.” This position aims to identify product quality risks and eliminate them during the novelty stage. The main challenge is to have strong expertise in quality development and product knowledge and a quality mindset to ensure product compliance with our quality requirements in development stage. Core Responsibilities Evaluate product structure and design to meet safety and functional requirements throughout the development process Review the current process to ensure continuous improvement and drive cross-functional projects to optimize processes Drive major incidents to identify root causes and implement countermeasures with proper problem-solving tools Initiate Q-Test plan for high complexity elements to ensure risk is identified with DFM when production Define the test method in development stage and ensure suppliers conduct the tests accordingly Conduct production pilots at vendors’ plants, evaluate and qualify manufacturing processes Take ownership of learning and development by proactively improving area of responsibility and transforming knowledge into results Support supplier quality management, including supplier quality audits and customer claim handling Identify visual quality according to LEGO error definitions and VQG guidelines Ensure a healthy and safe work environment for oneself and others Role authority: Approve/Reject development testing methodologies; escalate quality risk in development to management; approve/reject novelty PP quality to move to mass production; declare critical equipment performance results for mass production use Verify and validate development performance according to development agreements Contribute risk findings to project teams using professional quality tools (CTQs, FMEA, SPC, CPK, PPAP)Address development weaknesses or challenges impacting mass production stability Provide quality input for novelty development in earlier stages Align PS test with PS team and supplier team Approve test diagrams for development physical testing to drive PP approval Improve supplier development quality management and provide quality input to high-complexity projects (DFM/DFA)Check in with QID for D-FMEA and add local quality input Review development data to evaluate development performance Initiate P-FMEA to minimize development process risk; verify reliability of key measurements and testing in development; engage in development problem solving Do you have what it takes?Proven working experience in quality development or design engineering in plastic/injection molding industry with relevant education background is preferred Strong quality mindset to ensure never compromise to quality Expertise in plastic material, molding or related processes is preferred; experience in toy industry and knowledge of international toy safety standards (ASTM, EN71, ISO 8124) is advantageous Knowledge in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA Supplier quality development and management experience in Thailand is preferred Project management skills and strong oral and written communication Data science experience for performance analysis and risk indication Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is required; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus Decision-Making Assess the stability of quality in the development design Verify the reliability of supplier testing methods Close technical queries (TQs)Accept/Reject for PPAP Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
