Job Title: Data Platform Engineering Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in our data engineering team. As Data Platform Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction of our data platform and ensuring that it meets the needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership across data engineering, backend, frontend, and MLOps domains, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• DevOps Practices: Oversee DevOps practices and infrastructure management to ensure smooth operation of our systems.
• System Architecture: Review and approve system architecture, design patterns, and technical decisions to ensure they meet organizational requirements.
• Coding Standards: Establish coding standards, best practices, and technical documentation requirements to ensure consistency across the team.
• New Technologies: Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve development efficiency and effectiveness.

Team & Project Management:

• Sprint Planning: Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and agile ceremonies to ensure project deliverables are met on schedule.
• Resource Allocation: Manage resource allocation and project prioritization across multiple workstreams to maximize team productivity.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, ensuring that project objectives are met.
• Technical Point of Contact: Serve as primary technical point of contact for clinicians and business users, providing support and guidance as needed.

Engineering Operations:

• Code Review: Oversee code review processes across all engineering domains to ensure high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
• Production Deployments: Review and approve production deployments and changes to ensure they meet organizational requirements.
• Testing Practices: Ensure robust testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, to ensure the quality of our systems.
• Application Monitoring: Manage application monitoring and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal system performance.
• Incident Response: Lead incident response and troubleshooting for critical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring prompt resolution.

Infrastructure & DevOps Oversight:

• CI/CD Pipeline Design: Review and approve CI/CD pipeline designs and automation strategies to ensure efficient deployment and release processes.
• Infrastructure Architecture: Oversee infrastructure architecture decisions and cloud resource planning to ensure optimal use of resources.
• Security & Compliance: Guide security and compliance implementation in infrastructure, ensuring that our systems meet regulatory requirements.
• Disaster Recovery: Review disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure business continuity in the event of an outage or disaster.
• Monitoring & Alerting: Ensure proper monitoring and alerting systems are in place to detect and respond to potential issues before they become major problems.

Data & ML Operations:

• Data Pipeline Architecture: Guide data pipeline architecture and implementation to ensure efficient and effective data processing.
• ML Model Development: Oversee ML model development, deployment, and monitoring to ensure high-quality models and optimal performance.
• Data Quality: Ensure data quality, security, and compliance standards are met, maintaining the integrity of our data assets.

Team Development:

• Mentorship: Mentor and guide technical growth of team members across all domains, promoting professional development and advancement.
• Interviews & Hiring: Conduct technical interviews and participate in hiring decisions to ensure we attract top talent and build a strong team.
• Onboarding: Plan and oversee onboarding of new team members, ensuring they receive comprehensive training and support.
• Training Needs: Identify training needs and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members, promoting collaboration and innovation.

Process & Documentation:

• Technical Documentation: Maintain technical documentation and system architecture diagrams to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
• Development Workflows: Establish and refine development workflows and processes to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects.
• JIRA Ticket Management: Oversee JIRA ticket management and workflow to ensure timely resolution of issues and effective tracking of progress.
• Incident Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of incidents, changes, and solutions to promote knowledge sharing and improve future incident response.
