Singapore WPP Full time

WPP is the creative transformation company. We use the power of creativity to build better futures for our people, planet, clients, and communities. Working at WPP means being part of a global network of more than 100,000 talented people dedicated to doing extraordinary work for our clients. We operate in over 100 countries, with corporate headquarters in New York, London and Singapore. WPP is a world leader in marketing services, with deep AI, data and technology capabilities, global presence and unrivalled creative talent. Our clients include many of the biggest companies and advertisers in the world, including approximately 300 of the Fortune Global 500. Our people are the key to our success. We're committed to fostering a culture of creativity, belonging and continuous learning, attracting and developing the brightest talent, and providing exciting career opportunities that help our people grow. Why are we hiring: WPP is a world leader in media and marketing services, and many of our most important markets are within the Asia-Pacific region, where we employ 30,000 people and have revenues of £2.6 billion. We’re looking for an experienced leader to manage the strategic delivery of WPP corporate communications, public affairs and marketing across the APAC region. Preferably based in Singapore, you will have strong functional communications experience – both external and internal, as well as extensive media relations, issues management and public affairs experience. This role will also oversee our marketing and events in the region, and you will work closely with our agency leadership to coordinate and manage WPP-owned events as well as those of our clients and partner at which WPP is represented. Ideally, the candidate will have direct experience in a global and/or multi-company organisation. You will be a creative thinker, have strong attention to detail, and be comfortable working alongside multiple business leaders, partners and stakeholders to drive the vision and values of WPP and its companies forward, create stronger advocacy for WPP and our interests within our industry, and help us stay ahead of regulatory and political issues. As WPP’s business is increasingly focused on technology, data and ecommerce, we also have a specific need to be across any associated regulatory issues or political concerns in the APAC region. What you’ll be doing: As part of the global Marketing and Corporate Affairs team, you will represent the region and work alongside colleagues to build the function's reputation globally, including partnering on company-wide initiatives, policy and issues management. Manage and deliver the WPP external communications and public affairs strategy across Asia Pacific, focusing on Greater China, South Asia, Australia & New Zealand, and Japan. Build and manage a strong internal network with agency communications leaders across the region to ensure a consistent application of our work proactively and in managing appropriate reactive issues. Manage and deliver regional internal communications activity for WPP, including events such as WPP CEO townhalls in APAC, and other significant announcements. Build and maintain strong relationships with business and trade media titles across the region. Own the delivery of APAC contributions to WPP global internal and external channels to ensure the breadth of our operations and work is fully represented. Business partner agency and WPP functional leaders/CEOs across the region to provide counsel and rapid responses to media, issues and internal activations. Leverage understanding of the commercial and cultural context of the region to create new content, projects and initiatives that demonstrate the creative transformation the company delivers to our clients and partners. Develop policy and provide analysis and advice to WPP’s senior leaders on policy matters in APAC. Maximise WPP’s relationships with trade associations and other external organisations in the APAC region and represent WPP with those bodies. Work with WPP client growth teams and agency leadership to lead and coordinate WPP-owned activity and events such as the Stream Growth dinner series for WPP’s key clients and partners. Identify and manage speaking and thought leadership opportunities at industry events and in APAC. What you’ll need: Measurable expertise in managing communications for a global/multi-company business, preferably within the Asia Pacific region. Strong business partnering skills with senior leaders and the confidence and ability to counsel and advise appropriately. Experience in stewarding an international corporate brand and the complexity and sensitivity of doing so whilst maintaining a ‘can-do’ and optimistic tone and approach. Knowledge of and passion for sustainability, DEI and ESG is important for delivering our vision and values. An ability to work seamlessly in diverse cultures, with interpersonal skills that make you a compelling colleague to seek counsel from. Experiences in issues management, corporate affairs and the financial markets is desirable. Who you are: You’re open: We are inclusive and collaborative; we encourage the free exchange of ideas; we respect and celebrate diverse views. We are open-minded: to new ideas, new partnerships, new ways of working. You’re optimistic: We believe in the power of creativity, technology and talent to create brighter futures or our people, our clients and our communities. We approach all that we do with confidence: to try the new and to seek the unexpected. You’re extraordinary: We are stronger together: through collaboration we achieve the amazing. We are creative leaders and pioneers of our industry; we deliver extraordinary every day. What we’ll give you: Passionate, driven people – We champion a culture of people that do extraordinary work. Scale and opportunity – We offer the opportunity to create, influence and deliver projects at a scale that is unparalleled in the industry. Challenging and stimulating work – Unique work and the opportunity to join a group of creative problem solvers. Are you up for the challenge? More information can be found on #J-18808-Ljbffr
