The Senior Packaging Designer will be part of an orchestrated growth of the TRIA design team, to cater for the increased demand for its expertise.

The scope
Design and development of packaging solutions from concept through to production;
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and develop packaging for manufacturability, sustainability and cost-effectiveness;
Continuously research and evaluate new materials, production processes, and technologies to drive packaging innovation and improve packaging performance. This will require regular communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors;
Conduct functional and experience tests, diagnose problems and provide solutions;
Work across packaging structures, packaging graphics/identity, marketing collaterals, renderings, photoshoots and presentations;
The person
Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial design, packaging structures or packaging engineering. Experience in paper structures will be a bonus;
Diploma/Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field. That said, we do prefer a strong portfolio over qualifications;
Experience in design for manufacture, with a good grasp on materials, manufacturing know-hows and technologies;
Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc), 3D modeling (Rhino 3D) and rendering software (Keyshot, etc) and savvy with IT matters;
Strong understanding of design principles, aesthetics, and user behavior;
Good command of English and conversant in Chinese; to effectively communicate with Chinese-speaking clients
Passionate about environmental sustainability;
A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
