Senior, DevOps Engineer

Section A: Job Purpose The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for the setup, configuration, and management of both non-production and production platforms for automation. This role will lead the development and coordination efforts across operations teams to enable automation capabilities.Key responsibilities include collecting automation requirements, guiding DevOps and Automation Engineers in developing automation playbooks following best coding practices, and managing the migration and deployment of these playbooks to support operational efficiency and productivity improvements. The role also leads the design and implementation of DevOps and automation solutions for various projects.Section B: Key Responsibilities & KPIs Understand and apply automation concepts in daily IT managed services operations and service delivery.Design, build, and maintain automation playbooks using tools such as:AnsiblePythonPowerShellChef (Ruby)Terraform (HCL)GroovyJavaScript , and other relevant scripting languages.Operationalize automation solutions to enhance productivity.Develop and execute automated testing in both testing and production environments.Manage code control and versioning for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) playbooks.Set up and maintain DevOps platforms and deploy automation use cases.Manage and operate platforms such as Ansible , Terraform , and GitLab , ensuring SLA compliance.Lead DevOps engineers in developing automation use cases using Ansible, Chef, and Terraform.Integrate automation with tools such as ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) where applicable.Provide pre-sales technical solution support for automation initiatives.Section F: Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.Proven experience in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) development using one or more scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Python, Terraform, PowerShell, Groovy, Ruby, Bash).Required Experience: Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in IaC and automation development within IT managed services environments.Strong hands-on experience with:Ansible, Chef, Terraform (platform setup, configuration, and management).Code versioning tools and CI/CD pipeline development.DevOps platform setup, configuration, and deployment.Implementation of IaC end-to-end in managed service projects.Preferred Experience: Hands-on experience in cloud-based DevOps environments.Background in Linux/Unix/Windows system administration.Experience with open-source technologies and integration with various scripting languages.Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible).Database knowledge: PostgreSQL, MS SQL, MySQL.Exposure to RPA tools for playbook development.Certifications: Must have relevant certifications in DevOps or automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Chef).Non-Technical / Soft Skills: Must Have: Strong problem-solving capabilities.Passion for programming and automation.Ability to identify opportunities for process automation and improvement.Understanding of systems, networking, and development tools.Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).Self-motivated with high attention to detail.Good to Have: Team leadership and mentoring abilities.Experience working in cross-functional teams.Disclaimer: The company is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your information.
