The Research Fellow will play a significant role in working on synthesis and post-synthetic modification of novel carbon organic frameworks (COFs). The Research Fellow will spearhead the rational design, synthesis, characterization and investigations of optoelectronic properties as well as device fabrication and performance evaluation using the synthesized COFs.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out research activities assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Synthesize and modify novel COFs.
Investigate optoelectronic properties and evaluate device performance using the synthesized COFs.
Analyze and communicate experimental results in reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
Disseminate research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Present research progress at internal and external events.
Maintain key lab instruments and equipment.
Manage lab inventories and handle purchasing of chemicals, consumables, and equipment (> $6K).
Train graduate and undergraduate students.
Job Requirements:
PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field.
Strong research experience in COF synthesis and functionalization.
Proficient in NMR and materials characterization techniques.
Experience in thin film characterization (preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and publications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and scientific data processing software.
Ability to manage lab operations and inventories.
Prior experience with COFs and student training preferred.
Proficient in various molecular characterization techniques such as NMR (including for solid samples) as well as in materials characterization.
