Overview What the role is: The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal‐related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch‐point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal‐related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co‐exist in greater harmony within our City in Nature. Responsibilities Supporting the daily operations at Animal Quarantine Centre (AQC) by reviewing, formulating and implementing operational procedures Conducting inspections and audits of designated quarantine facilities Addressing queries from customers on the import and quarantine of dogs/cats Assisting with the management of animals under home quarantine Liaising with contractors and other service providers Assisting with processing applications for quarantine reservations Assisting with the daily care of quarantined dogs and cats and upkeep of the kennels and catteries (e.g. grooming, carrying out checks on animals)Assisting with administrative processes and other duties related to the operations of the branch (e.g. updating records, discharge of animals, issuance of certificates, procurement of supplies, etc)Qualifications Areas of study in Biological Science or other related fields At least 1 year experience in working with animals or veterinary related industry Comfortable handling live animals (small mammals, dogs, cats, birds)Team player with initiative, drive and good interpersonal/communication skills (verbal and written)Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn new IT system applications Required to work on weekends and public holidays based on roster Office Location The office location will be at the Animal Quarantine Centre, 2 Jalan Lekar, Singapore Recruitment Notes Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Successful candidates will be offered an 11-month employment contract.
