Job Purpose
At SIT's Professional Officers Division, we bring our rich industry experience and technical skills into our work, creating a better physical environment where learning and innovation take place. We work with teaching programmes and innovation projects to improve the skills of our students and to strengthen & energise our industry and the wider community. A Professional Officer has a combination of responsibilities including participating in and managing innovation projects, managing digital technology resources, and mentoring & facilitating student learning.
The Centre for Digital Enablement (CoDE) drives initiatives to elevate digital competencies for academic staff and students within SIT. It collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to upskill digital literacy through programmes and digital innovation projects related to Digital Learning Spaces (DLS).
For this role, you will lead AI enablement programmes, manage AI resources and initiatives, and spearhead AI projects with industry partners to support teaching and learning. You will also develop and deliver digital literacy courses to undergraduates and staff, ensuring graduates are workforce-ready. Mentoring students and managing student projects will also be part of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
AI Enablement Programmes
Lead AI enablement programmes to develop AI skills among students and staff.
Develop an AI Competency Roadmap to guide skill development.
Stay updated with AI developments to keep programmes relevant.
Manage AI-related resources such as software, hardware, and equipment.
AI Projects
Drive AI projects to support educational objectives.
Collaborate with industry and academic stakeholders on applied research.
Supervise and mentor students on AI projects.
Teaching & Student Mentorship
Develop and deliver digital skills courses and workshops.
Mentor students and oversee student projects.
Perform other duties as directed by the Director/Deputy Director of CoDE.
Job Requirements
A degree in Computer Science or related field; postgraduate qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
10+ years of experience, including at least 5 in AI, Machine Learning, or related areas.
Experience in developing and deploying AI solutions.
Strong programming skills (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
Proficiency in data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Interest and experience in innovation projects and technical problem solving.
Strong supervisory and project management skills.
Good interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
Enjoy working with students in an educational setting.
