As a Global Supplier Manager (GSM) at Micron, you will have the unique opportunity to manage a large strategic supplier or suppliers, contributing to Micron's world-class memory and storage solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with team members across multiple categories to ensure high-quality supplier support when providing goods and services. Your expertise will be crucial in driving supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality.**Key Responsibilities**Supplier Management* Participate in commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers* Lead cross-category and significant company-to-company escalations; support category escalations for assigned suppliers as needed* Serve as the center of knowledge for assigned supplier(s) and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution* Partner with the category team and stakeholders to build comprehensive view of supplier performance* Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization, including Executive LeadershipCost Management & Analysis* Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers* Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets* Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal stakeholders* Utilize should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplaceNegotiation* Collaborate across categories to ensure unified negotiation plans* Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc* Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation* Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations* Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditionsBusiness Partnering* Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions* Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned supplier(s) through relationships with Category Director, Global Category Managers, and Category Supplier Managers* Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing ProcurementRequirements:* Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement processes* A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.* Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing.* Strong negotiating and analytical skills.* Strong communication skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with various individuals involved.* Advanced skills in material cost structure understanding and analysis**About Micron Technology, Inc.**We are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich life *for all*.
