The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their care. The School offers undergraduate and graduate programmes, and is named after philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a leader in innovative medical education and transformative research. Its primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group.
The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school, with plans to establish a Joint Medical School by 2028. In August 2024, the first intake of the NTU MBBS programme was welcomed, emphasizing themes like precision medicine, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, and the medical humanities. Graduates will have a strong foundation in the scientific basis of medicine, with a focus on technology, data science, and the humanities.
Research at LKCMedicine focuses on inflammasome activation and innate immune signaling pathways in human cells. We seek a Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate the regulation and function of the human NLRP1 inflammasome using cell and molecular biology techniques. The role involves exploring the regulation and function of the human NLRP1 inflammasome with a focus on cell and molecular biology approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and perform experiments to dissect NLRP1 activation pathways
Utilize CRISPR editing, molecular cloning, and imaging in human cells
Analyze data, prepare figures, and contribute to manuscript writing
Present findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences
Mentor junior researchers and maintain lab operations
Collaborate with internal and external research teams
Assist with grant applications and progress reports
Key Requirements:
PhD in molecular biology and/or immunology
Proven track record in innate immunity or inflammasome research
Experience with CRISPR genome engineering and mammalian cell culture
Strong written and oral communication skills
